Compliance with industry standards, best practices and regulatory requirements is important to any IT system and service provider and are critically important to trust service providers (TSPs) and their customers.

Certificate compliance with industry standards and best practices ensures that TSPs and their customers ensure security, trust and compatibility. Internet browsers will automatically flag sites that are not compliant as non-trusted, which will stop users from accessing sites and business applications.

Ascertia has a long history of providing trust services and digital signature software products that ensure compliance and compatibility with legislation, regulatory requirements and standards - and this latest ADSS Server release is no exception.

The latest release of Ascertia’s ADSS Server, version 8.3.9, provides TSP customers with compliance with the latest CA\B Forum Baseline requirements. These requirements ask for Certification Authorities (CAs) to perform checks on certificates to ensure compliance before they are signed with the CA’s publicly trusted signing key and certificate.

How ADSS Server meets CA/B Forum Baseline requirements

TSPs using an ADSS Server-based CA will be able to benefit from this new product capability. ADSS Server will process a PKCS#10 certificate signing request and, in line with the CA\B Baseline requirements, sign the request with a dummy, non-publicly trusted key and certificate.

The ADSS Server Certificate processing logic will then evaluate the signed certificate against certificate linters to determine if the certificate passes the certificate limiting checks. If this passes, the certificate signing request will be processed and signed by the real publicly trusted CA key and certificate and then passed back to the business application that submitted the request.

This new feature is available to all Ascertia customers. Trust service providers looking to remain compliant will be able to leverage this new product capability to be compliant with these new changes. Learn more about ADSS Server 8.3.9.
