Based in Iceland’s capital city, Reykjavík, Advania is a “tech company with people at heart”.

Also operating across Denmark, Finland, the UK, Norway and Sweden, Advania has over 5,000 employees and provides managed services, hardware and software, and professional services to clients in both public and private sectors. It’s a big company with even bigger ambitions, and that eventually led Advania to Ascertia.

Advania became a customer of Ascertia in 2007 and hasn’t looked back since. But how exactly did the relationship come to fruition? And how does Ascertia’s technology power the Nordic giant to service its clients? This case study has the answers.

Advania case study

Business need:

Advania’s customers required the company to provide a qualified timestamping service. This would serve as proof of existence, authenticity and integrity for specific electronic data – like documents, emails and transactions.

It also had to comply with eIDAS, the EU’s regulation for electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions.

Selection process:

Advania, knowing what it had to provide, dove into the timestamping market. It needed to be quick – choosing a service that allowed fast and seamless implementation – and came across Ascertia. It didn’t take long for the Nordic company to decide Ascertia was its best option.

Not only does Ascertia’s ADSS TSA Server make timestamping simple, is fully compliant with eIDAS. With Ascertia’s solution, Advania would not have to worry about regulatory compliance.

Solution:

Advania chose Ascertia’s ADSS TSA Server to help verify documents and other important electronic data.

“We were looking for the best provider in the world and we found it,” said Advania’s Division Manager, Sigurður Másson. “We have been working with Ascertia since then, I can say that it has been a very good journey and we are very happy.”

Take it from Másson: “It helped us a lot and saved us a lot of money using Ascertia. Otherwise, we would have had to go through very expensive processes that Ascertia had already solved with their products.”

ADSS TSA Server can produce thousands of timestamps every second, providing everything that’s needed to legally verify long-term digital signatures. It can issue both eIDAS Qualified and Adobe AATL timestamps, and meets stringent security standards like RFC 3161 and RFC 5816.
