I’m pleased to announce the release of ADSS Web RA Server v2.10.1, the latest update to our certificate registration and vetting platform.

Following the identity verification improvements introduced in v2.10.0, this release focuses on making day‑to‑day Registration Authority operations more efficient. It introduces the ability to correct pending certificate requests before approval, issue multiple certificates from a single request, and gives administrators greater control over password reset verification and token usage.

ADSS Web RA Server helps organisations manage the digital certificate lifecycle, including registration, enrolment, renewal, revocation and recovery across people, devices and applications. It integrates with multiple Certificate Authorities and Trust Service Providers, supporting a wide range of enterprise and trust service deployments.

## What’s New in v2.10.1

- Edit Pending Certificate Requests
- Issue Multiple Certificates in a Single Request
- Configurable Virtual ID Password Reset Verification
- Token Management and Single Token Policy

## Edit Pending Certificate Requests

A simple mistake in a certificate request should not always require the request to be rejected and submitted again.

With v2.10.1, Registration Authority Operators can correct information in a pending request before approving it. For new certificate requests, Operators can edit Subject DN and Subject Alternative Name (SAN) attributes, the validity period and vetting form fields. Where dual control is enabled, Dual Control Operators can make the same changes.

Rekey requests remain more restricted. Operators can update email fields in the Subject DN and SAN, while other certificate attributes remain unchanged. Enterprise Users can also update their own email fields when submitting a rekey request.

Existing controls continue to apply. Changes are recorded in the activity and audit logs when a request is saved or approved, and where secondary authentication is enabled, Operators must authenticate before approving an edited request.

This reduces unnecessary rejections and repeat submissions while maintaining the existing approval and audit controls.

## Issue Multiple Certificates in a Single Request

Some users need more than one certificate for different purposes, for example separate certificates for authentication and signing. Previously, these required separate enrolment requests.

Web RA v2.10.1 allows multiple certificates to be issued from a single request, with each certificate using its own key pair, key usage and security settings.

Within the Unified Certificate Profile, administrators can:

- Define multiple key pairs with their own key usage, algorithm and key size
- Configure a primary certificate profile and one or more secondary profiles
- Request certificates from the same CA or different CAs, including internal and public CAs

Certificates issued from the same request remain linked so they can be located and managed together. Administrators can revoke, rekey, renew or reissue an individual certificate or apply the action across the related certificates. Each certificate retains its own status, so an action against one does not automatically affect the others.

This simplifies enrolment for users who require several certificates while retaining independent lifecycle management for each one.

## Configurable Virtual ID Password Reset

Organisations can now choose how users verify their identity when resetting a Virtual ID password.

Enterprises can configure Email OTP, SMS OTP, or both, based on the notification methods already configured in the Web RA Certification Profile and ADSS Notification Settings.

This allows the password reset process to better align with an organisation’s existing security and authentication policies.

## Token Management and Single Token Policy

v2.10.1 introduces a new Token Management section, giving administrators a central view of the tokens configured within the system and the associated token information.

A new **Force Users to Use a Single Token** policy can also restrict users to one token for token‑based certificate operations.

This provides administrators with clearer visibility of token configuration and gives organisations the option to enforce a simpler, more consistent token model where required.

## Why This Matters

For Trust Service Providers, enterprises and managed service providers, operational efficiency is often affected by relatively small issues such as rejected requests, repeated enrolments and inconsistent administrative processes.

The improvements in v2.10.1 address several of these areas directly.

Editable requests reduce avoidable rework while maintaining the audit trail and approval process. Multi‑certificate requests simplify enrolment where users require several certificates. The new password reset and token controls give administrators greater flexibility in applying organisational security policies.

Together, these changes make certificate registration and lifecycle management easier to operate without reducing administrative control.

## A Stronger Platform for Certificate Registration and Vetting

ADSS Web RA Server v2.10.1 continues our focus on making certificate registration and vetting easier to manage across enterprise and Trust Service Provider environments.

The release combines practical improvements to certificate enrolment with greater administrative control over users, authentication and tokens, while retaining the policy, audit and lifecycle controls required for managed PKI environments.
